Purple spiders, baby alligators, and baby chicks

Gracey has recently started to have imaginary friends that are little animals usually. A few weeks ago she informed us that she had two baby coyotes and then showed us that they were about as big as her hand and told us that they were right there in front of us, couldn't we see them? This week she has two baby alligators that ride around with her on her leg. Sometimes, they need to be petted or helped up onto chair etc.

This is all tied in to her frequent requests for not one but two baby hamsters, or two baby rats etc...this request is followed by a really desperate but cute "Pwease, Mommy, Pwease...."

Last week when talking with Lee one day she told Lee that if she could just have a baby rat, she would get him some blankets and he would be so comfortable.

So you can imagine her delight when she went to school today to discover that they were making nests for some little decorative birds, which she informed us is "weally a weal bird."

Kids just love animals, don't they? I think I remember feeling that way. Cute!
